ABOUT ABOUT

Crochet 101 - July 17-19 and July 24-26 from 3:30-4:30pm

OPEN to Adults and Children aged 11+  Cost $50.00 (scholarships available)

Have you ever wished you knew how to crochet?  Love the look of all those cute hats and scarves you keep seeing at local craft fairs?  Want to experience the stress relief and positive feelings associated with making something of your very own?  Then join us for a fun class where you will learn the Basics of Crochet.  We will learn how to hold the crochet hook and yarn, how to do a beginning chain, and 3 simple stitches - single crochet, double crochet and a combination of each to create an interesting pattern.  At the end of the class students will have created a small rectangle of crocheted fabric which they can use to create a simple drawstring bag.  Alternatively students may choose to use the sample as the first swatch for an afghan or scarf.  Once the beginning stitches are learned the possibilities are endless!!!!  Crochet hooks and appropriate yarn will be available for a fee of $8.00 to be collected at the first class or bring your own.  No experience necessary.  Class size is limited to 6 participants.  There are multiple instructors, so you are sure to get lots of individual instruction and have success learning this new skill!
