Sand Lake Center for the Arts-Circle Theatre Players is proud to present the regional premiere of "John Ball's In the Heat of the Night" adapted by Matt Pelfrey from the Schenectady native John Ball's novel which was also the source material for the Oscar winning Best Picture movie celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year and the 1980's television series starring Carroll O'Connor still found on syndication nightly. It's the story of Virgil Tibbs, a California homicide detective who, while passing through town is profiled and wrongly arrested for the murder of a prominent real estate developer in racially divided 1962 Argo, Alabama. Will the racist police department and Chief Bill Gillespie change quickly enough to collaborate with the brilliant detective to save their town from a murderer among them? Performance dates are Oct 6, 7, 12, 13, 14 at 8pm and Oct 8 and 15 at 2:30pm. Tickets $18. Adults, $10. under 18.
